The piece Somnus (2008), consists of a photographic and videographic installation where the notion of oneiric time is addressed. The installation is divided in two moments: the first is a photographic moment, related to moving images, which portrays the whole artistic process; the second moment includes a projection of two videos. The installation runs through several stories related to dreams (mine and fictionalised), themes such as death, transfigurations of reality, accidents and parallel universes, mixed with pre-existing cinematographic scenes (represented and interpreted by me), such as the commonplace concerning the position of the dead person in certain police films. Here, the symbolism of death is presented as an act of awareness of death itself where death can suggest a new beginning. The soundtrack in Somnus is little manipulated, with only occasional sounds, such as those of a cement mixer at work, prevailing a silent dimension that runs through the videos almost in their entirety.
